Discord integration with PSN accounts could arrive soon

PlayStation users may soon be able to connect their PlaySation Network account to Discord. 

A post in the official Discord subreddit earlier this week displayed the PlayStation Network icon in Discord, appearing through the connections section of the communications app. 

Posted by user entitled jankesjt, the site of the PlayStation icon follows on from Sony’s partnership with social platform in May 2021 which, at the time, stated that integration between the two social services would commence some time early in 2022. 

At the time of the announcement though, it wasn’t clear how the two systems would link up, and now over seven months later, things still aren’t any clearer.

Currently, Xbox players can display which games you’re playing on their console through the user’s Discord profile, to signal to your friends when you’re around. Going off images on the original Reddit post, PlayStation players may soon get a similar experience yet, with Sony hijacking Microsoft’s alleged deal, we’d expect a little more to come from the partnership.
