Resident Evil Showcase unveils array of new content
22/10/2022New footage and updates for Resident Evil Village Gold Edition, and its Winters’ Expansion, was unveiled at the Resident Evil Showcase.
The team behind Resident Evil Village provided an extended look at both Shadows of Rose, the new story chapter from the Winters’ Expansion, and the frequently requested Third Person Mode.
Available on October 28, the Winters’ Expansion and Gold Edition will become available for Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC via Steam.
Players who pre-order now will receive the Street Wolf Outfit as a special bonus for heroine Rose Winters to wear as she explores a mysterious realm of consciousness in search of a cure for her unwanted powers.
Before the Winters’ Expansion and Resident Evil Village Gold Edition arrive, players will also have the chance to experience the campaign from a new perspective. A 60-minute demo featuring the expansion’s Third Person Mode is available now.
Alongside the aforementioned releases, the Showcase also revealed details for the revamped Resident Evil 4, as well as exploring various new ways to experience the survival horror series, including PlayStation VR2 and Mac versions of Resident Evil Village, and cloud versions for Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, Resident Evil 7 biohazard, and Resident Evil Village on Nintendo Switch.
An early access event will also become available on October 24 for Resident Evil Re:Verse, a free multiplayer experience for all Resident Evil Village owners. The full game is set to launch on Oct. 28, 2022 and will support cross-play across all platforms.
The Mac version of Resident Evil Village was also announced for an October 28 release, landing in tandem with the recently revealed Resident Evil Village Cloud for Nintendo Switch.
The Winters’ Expansion will arrive for Resident Evil Village Cloud on December 2 this year. Launch dates for the upcoming Nintendo Switch releases Resident Evil 2 Cloud (November 11), Resident Evil 3 Cloud (November 18), and Resident Evil 7 biohazard Cloud (December 16) were also revealed during today’s show.
